Set up SC Sales Motivator

Overview

SC Sales Motivator encourages your customers to spend more on your store with a banner that displays messages of how much customers need to spend to reach a goal when they add items to their cart. You can use this banner to offer free shipping promotions, display discount codes, or even gift a product to customers who reach a certain goal.

Setup

Step 1: Select Your Price Plan

Motivator has a Basic plan and a Premium plan. With the Basic plan, you're able to set up a banner on your website to encourage your customers to reach a set monetary goal.

You can offer the incentive of a discount code, or even free shipping to customers who reach your monetary goal. You can also adjust the language that appears on the banner.

The Premium plan offers a few additional features: the ability to schedule your banner between a certain time, offer different goals to customers in different countries, and automatically give your customers a free gift when they reach the goal.

Step 2: Install Motivator Premium (optional)

Motivator Premium has an associated code installation if you want to use the app to offer free gift products.

The installation prevents your gift products from being purchased if a customer has not qualified for the associated goal.

If you are not comfortable working with code, please request an expert installation and our team will be happy to assist.

Step 3: Create a SC Sales Motivator Goal

Create your first goal using SC Sales Motivator; this will display as a banner across the top of your website.

Set the required dollar amount needed to unlock the goal, change the language used on the banner, and congratulate your customer when they reach the goal.

The banner will update to reflect how close a customer is to your goal each time they add something to their cart.

You can set up a few different types of goals using SC Sales Motivator:

If multiple goals are created and set as active, only one goal can be initiated in the cart page at one time.

Example

Let's say you have three goals created and activated in SC Sales Motivator. Goal 1 has a cart goal value of $10.00, Goal 2 has a cart goal of $50.00 and Goal 3 has a cart total of $100.00. Each goal is offering a different size gift bag ranging from Small for Goal 1, Medium for Goal 2 and Large for Goal 3.

If a product that is worth $60.00 is added into the cart, the Medium gift bag for Goal 2 will be added into the cart and the Small gift bag will not be added.

In order to allow all products from each goal to be added into the cart, the customer will need to hit each cart goal individually.

Step 4: Change Motivator's Display Settings

Adjust the way that SC Sales Motivator's display banner appears on your storefront to match your branding, to stand out more, or to look however you want it to.

Make changes to the colour of the banner, the size of the font, and the amount of time the banner displays for, or use your own custom CSS.

Pro-Tip

You can also move your banner to the bottom of your store.
