What is the difference between Product Options basic and premium?
On the basic plan, you can add many types of options:
- Drop-downs
- Radio buttons
- Checkboxes
- Text fields
- File uploads
On the premium plan, you can add the same types of options listed above, plus:
- Image and colour swatches
- Adjustable pricing
- Conditional logic
- In-cart editing
Example
If you want to add a custom logo field, create a checkbox that says Custom Logo.
Then, under Product Conditions, create 2 conditions so that if Yes is selected, the fields for the custom logo appear; and if No is selected, the fields are hidden.
What's the difference between an Option and Option Set?
Product Options provides you with the ability to offer your customers additional choices on a specific product. These choices present themselves as radio buttons, checkboxes, text input fields, etc.
When creating these options, you'll notice that you create them as an option set.
Option sets are a group of option choices that relate to a specific product or a group of products.
Example
Your customers can select from a group of colour swatches, add personalized text, and upgrade to a premium version of Products A, B, and C.
You would create the colour swatches, personalized text, and premium choice as a single option set.
Options are the choices that your customers are able to make on a specific product.
Example
The selection of colour swatches, ability to add personalized text, and the upgrade to a premium version are all options on a product.
See below to view how your options would appear within an option set.
