Birthday Earning Rule

Customers automatically earn loyalty points on their birthday once per year. This strengthens customer relationships and promotes birthday-related purchases.


Configuration - Basic Settings

Enable or disable the rule and set how many points are awarded on the customer’s birthday (e.g., 100 points).


Setup Instructions

Go to: Loyalty Program → Earn Points → Birthday Earning Rule
Enable the rule → Set points → Save.


Birthday Data Collection

Customers must submit their birthday through the loyalty widget.
Birthday data is optional, securely stored, and compliant with privacy regulations.


Point Distribution Schedule

The system checks birthdays daily and awards points only if the customer hasn’t received a birthday reward that year.


Annual Reward

Customers earn birthday points once per year on their birthday.
Leap year rule:

  • Feb 29 birthdays get points on Feb 29 in leap years

  • Awarded on Feb 28 in non-leap years


Use Case #1 — Birthday VIP Treatment

Offer higher birthday points and a personalized email to encourage purchases and make customers feel valued.


Use Case #2 — Birthday Month Campaign

Send a series of birthday messages (before, during, and after the birthday) to increase engagement and redemption.


Best Practices

  • Set point values high enough to feel special

  • Combine with birthday perks like discount codes or free shipping

  • Promote the birthday feature so customers add their date
