If a location is not appearing on the map or its pin is in the wrong place, the most common cause is a geocoding failure due to an incomplete or incorrect address.
Finding Unlocated Stores
- Go to Apps > Store Locator > Locations.
- Use the filter options in the table to filter by geocoding status: select Not Geolocated to see all locations that have not been successfully placed on the map.
Fixing an Unlocated Store
- Click the location to open its edit page.
- Review and correct the address fields (Address Line 1, City, State/Province, Country, Postal/Zip Code).
- Scroll to Adjust Location and click Find My Store to re-geocode.
- If the pin is in the wrong place, manually enter the correct Latitude and Longitude values.
- Save.
Common Causes of Geocoding Failures
- Missing required address fields (City or Country are mandatory).
- Typos or non-standard address formats.
- Very new addresses not yet in Google's database.
- An API key without the Geocoding API enabled.
