Overview

Options are where our app gets it namesake. Options are drop-downs, checkboxes, file uploads, swatches and more, all created within the Product Options app.

This section will focus on the options created within Product Options, as this is the main feature of the app. Using options and option sets, you can provide your customers additional choices when purchasing a product on your store.

Drop-downs

Drop-down menus allow you to offer a variety of different options to your customers. Customers can click the menu to expand it, then select from it.

You can assign a price to each individual value of the dropdown menu.

Checkboxes

Single Choice

Single choice checkboxes only allow for 1 checkbox to be created at a time.

Checkboxes can be selected and then un-selected.

Multiple Choice

Multiple choice checkboxes allow you to offer and display more than 1 checkbox at a time.

Checkboxes can be selected and then un-selected.

Radio Buttons

Radio buttons are a variation of the checkbox, but they cannot be un-selected once clicked.

Only one radio button can be selected at a time.

Swatches

Single Choice

Swatches allow you to showcase either an image or a color to your customers.

Only one single choice swatch can be selected at a time.

Multiple Choice

Multiple choice swatches allow you to offer more than 1 selectable swatch at a time.

Scrollable Lists

Scrollable lists are an alternative to the drop-down menu where customers do not need to click to open the menu for their selection.

Customers are able to select one or more values, but will need to press and hold the SHIFT key in order to select multiple values.

Text Boxes

Short Text

Short text boxes allow customers to enter their own information.

When creating a short text box, you can set a maximum character limit. The example below has a maximum limit of 5 characters.

Customers can enter any text they wish, as long as it's under the maximum character limit (if set).

Paragraph Text

Paragraph text boxes allow customers to enter their own information as well as re-size the text box by clicking and dragging.

When creating a paragraph text box, you can set a maximum character limit. The example below has no maximum character limit.

Customers can enter any text they wish, as long as it's under the maximum character limit (if set).

Short Text Group

Short text groups allow you to offer multiple text boxes to your customers.

Customers can enter any text they wish, but there is no character limit for short text groups.

Descriptive Text

Descriptive text simply displays the text you enter into the app when creating this option.

File Upload

The file upload option allows customers to upload a file that will be attached to their order.

Number, Email, Color, Date, and Telephone Boxes

Number

The number option allows you to restrict what your customers are able to enter.

This field only allows numbers to be entered.

Email

The email option allows customers to enter an email address.

This field verifies if the text entered is an email address. If what the customer enters is not a properly formatted email address, the customer will not be able to add the item to cart.

It is important to note that this field is not capable of verifying the authenticity of the email addresses entered. The field simply checks if the formatting is of a valid email address.

Color

The color option allows customers to select a color through the use of a color picker.

Date

The date option (date picker) allows customers to select or enter a date.

The date picker can be customized to limit what years, weeks or days a customer can select, but this is not part of its default functionality.

Telephone

The telephone option allows customers to enter a phone number.

This field verifies if the text entered is a phone number. If what the customer enters is not a properly formatted phone number, the customer will not be able to add the item to cart.

It is important to note that this field is not capable of verifying the authenticity of the phone numbers entered. The field simply checks if the formatting is of a valid phone number.
