Accessibility Settings

Modified on Thu, 11 Dec at 7:57 AM

The Accessibility Settings in the Keystone Loyalty Rewards app are designed to improve visibility, readability, and usability for merchants who have visual impairments, color vision deficiencies, or personal display preferences. These settings allow merchants to adjust text weight, font size, and apply color filters that improve contrast and help distinguish UI elements more easily.

Where to Access

All accessibility controls are located inside the app under:
Settings >  Accessibility Settings

A master toggle enables or disables all accessibility adjustments at once without removing saved configurations.

Key Features

1. Bold Font

Enabling the bold font option increases the font weight across the entire app.
Benefits include:

  • Improved readability

  • Higher contrast

  • Reduced eye strain

  • Better visibility in bright environments

Best suited for users with low vision or those who prefer stronger typography.

2. Font Size Adjustment

A slider allows users to increase or decrease the size of all text, icons, and UI elements.
This affects:

  • Navigation

  • Buttons

  • Tables

  • Labels

  • Form fields

Recommended approach: start at default and adjust gradually, testing across multiple pages.

3. Color Blindness Filters

To support users with red-green, blue-yellow, or complete color blindness, the app provides several filters:

  • Protanopia (Red-blind) – improves differentiation between red and green

  • Deuteranopia (Green-blind) – adjusts hues for better clarity of green-red elements

  • Tritanopia (Blue-blind) – improves contrast between blues and yellows

  • Achromatopsia (Grayscale) – removes all color, relying solely on brightness and contrast

Each filter also includes an intensity slider to fine-tune the strength of the effect.

Configuration Steps

  1. Enable Accessibility Settings

  2. Adjust display options (bold font, font size)

  3. Choose a color blindness filter (optional)

  4. Adjust filter intensity

  5. Test across pages for clarity and readability

All changes save automatically.

Common Use Cases

  • Low Vision: Bold font + increased text size

  • Red-Green Color Blindness: Protanopia or Deuteranopia filter + medium intensity

  • Bright Workspace: Bold font + slight text increase

  • Total Color Blindness: Grayscale filter + optionally bold text

Best Practices

  • Test filters on screens containing status indicators, charts, and color-coded labels

  • Avoid setting font size too high to prevent layout issues

  • Use moderate filter intensity for natural but effective color correction

  • Verify settings across different pages after applying changes

Troubleshooting

  • If text becomes too large → decrease font size

  • If colors look unnatural → lower filter intensity or choose a different filter

  • If settings don’t apply → ensure accessibility toggle is ON, refresh page, or clear cache

  • If layout breaks → reduce size settings and report to support if persistent
