Store Locator allows you to create search filters to help your customers narrow down their searches.
To demonstrate how search filters work, we will use the example of a 'Pet Friendly' filter. Following this specific use case will help clarify the setup process from start to finish.
Adding Search Filters
1. From the Shopify admin, select Apps.
2. Select Store Locator.
3. Select Settings.
4. Select Search Settings.
5. Enter a Filter Name (e.g., "Pet Friendly") and select Add.

6. Save changes.

7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 until you have added all of your desired search filters.
Important Note: The same action can be done on individual store location pages during creation or editing:
1. Select Add a New Search Filter text box.
2. Enter the filter name name and select Add Filter.

3. Save changes.
Getting to store location pages is presented in the Add and Edit Store Location article.
Editing and Deleting Search Filters
Each filter is managed independently on the Search Settings page.
If you want to edit or delete it, please use the buttons below and then follow the intuitive steps to change the filter name or delete it, before saving changes.

Assigning Search Filters
Each filter is assigned on individual store location pages, during creation or editing.
Getting to store location pages is presented in the Add and Edit Store Location article. Once there:
1. Scroll down and find the Search Filters section.
2. Click on the checkbox for the filter you want to relate to a specific location (in this case, click the checkbox for "Pet Friendly").

3. Save changes.
Storefront Example
Let’s stick to our example with pet friendly locations.
Let’s assume you:
1. Added the Pet Friendly search filter following steps in the Adding Search Filters section.
2. Then assigned the new search filter as described in the Assigning Search Filters section.
Then your customers will be able to:
1. Observe search filters as checkboxes on your map's page.
2. Check one of the boxes, after which the map will display locations that are pet friendly.
Current Limitations
You cannot…
… limit searches with two filters. For example, if your customers want to find store locations which are both pet friendly AND wheelchair accessible. They can only find store locations which are both pet friendly OR wheelchair accessible.
… hide search filters from the list on the Search Settings page, you can only delete them.
… assign multiple store locations to specific search tags in bulk on the Search Settings page.
… edit or delete search filters in bulk on the Search Settings page.
