How Customers Use Online Dynamic Discount Codes

Claiming a Dynamic Discount Code

  • Customer opens loyalty widget or account page
  • Navigate to rewards section
  • Click "Create Custom Discount"
  • Enter desired points to redeem
  • System displays discount value in real-time and validates points
  • Click "Generate Code"
  • Points are deducted and unique code is generated

Using the Discount Code

  • Receive unique code (e.g., DYNAMIC123 - $25 off)
  • Add items to cart
  • Enter code at checkout
  • System validates purchase type and applies discount

Code Display

  • Visible in the loyalty widget
  • Visible in the confirmation screen
  • Visible in transaction history


Refunds and Reversals


Automatic Refunds

Points are automatically refunded when the discount code is deleted and unused.


Manual Refunds

Customers and merchants can manually refund dynamic discount codes.



Customer-Initiated Refunds
  • Eligibility: Code unused and present in account
  • Process:
    • View claimed codes
    • Select code to refund
    • Confirm refund
  • Points are returned and code is deactivated

Merchant-Initiated Refunds
  • Navigate to Loyalty Program > Customers
  • Select customer and view claimed rewards
  • Select code to refund and confirm
  • Points returned and code deactivated

Best Practice: Notify customers when refunding codes.
