Overview

Free Shipping Rewards let customers redeem loyalty points for discount codes that eliminate shipping costs. These rewards support subscription handling, minimum requirements, geographic targeting, and shipping rate exclusions, providing immediate value and removing a common purchase barrier.

Restricted Rewards

• Not visible to customers in the public catalog
• No points cost associated
• Automatically claimed by other features (e.g., referrals)

How It Works

• Customer claims reward → receives unique discount code
• At checkout, code entered → eligible shipping costs reduced to $0
• Free shipping applies to standard shipping; premium/express may vary

Payment Type Options

• One-time purchases only
• Subscriptions only (first, multiple, or all recurring payments)
• Both one-time and subscription purchases

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum Order Value (e.g., Spend $35+)
• Minimum Item Quantity (e.g., 3+ items)
• No minimum

Customer Eligibility

• All customers
• Specific customers
• Specific Shopify customer segments (e.g., VIPs, high spenders, inactive customers)

Usage Limits

Each discount code can be limited to a number of uses (default: 1). Customers can claim the reward again once the code is fully used.

Discount Combinations

Control whether free shipping can combine with order or product discounts.

Geographic Targeting

Free shipping can be restricted to selected countries. If a customer's shipping address does not match, standard shipping rates apply.

Shipping Rate Exclusions

Optionally exclude orders above a maximum shipping cost to control expenses.

How Customers Claim and Use

• Claim: Customer clicks claim → points deducted → unique code generated
• Use: Add items, meet minimums, enter code at checkout → shipping cost reduced

Refunds and Reversals

• Automatic Refunds: Points returned if code or reward deleted
• Manual Refunds: Customer or merchant can refund unused/partially used codes; fully used codes cannot be refunded

Shopify Synchronization

Claimed rewards automatically create Shopify shipping discount codes linked to the customer and usable immediately at checkout.
